Membership Categories & Criteria
Admission into the ICAN Abuja & District Society is open to qualified members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria residing or working within the Federal Capital Territory.
Fellows (FCA)
SENIOR LEADERSHIP CADREConferred on chartered accountants who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, professional standing, and continuous compliance for a minimum of 10 years post-qualification.
Associates (ACA)
PROFESSIONAL CHARTERED CADREOpen to all qualified Chartered Accountants (ACA) certified by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria who reside, practice, or work in the FCT and its environs.
Transferring Members
INTER-DISTRICT TRANSFERMembers relocating to Abuja from any of ICAN's 95 other District Societies or international diaspora chapters (UK, USA, Canada, Cameroon) seeking formal transfer of district affiliation.
Newly Inducted ACAs
EARLY CAREER & INDUCTEESChartered accountants inducted within the last 12 to 24 months seeking foundational mentorship, professional network integration, and specialized technical orientation in the FCT.
